Mr Simon Howells has undertaken building work for us, at our Emsworth house, on a regular basis since 1994. Most recently, before we moved temporarily to the USA, he built us a new detached garage. As we have come to expect he undertook this work in a most professional manner, always taking our views into account and suggesting building methods and materials which were appropriate and where feasible and less expensive. He provided the plans for the project and submitted these to the council. Subsequently, he liaised with the relevant council officers to ensure that all work was completed in a satisfactory manner.
Mr Howells is a most competent builder who provides a reliable service at a competitive price. I intend to employ him again if and when we require further building work and I have no hesitation in recommending him to others.

We are very pleased with the extension you built for us this summer.
This involved building both above and in front of our existing kitchen extension to give us a shower room and a study downstairs and two extra bedrooms upstairs, plus a porch at the back door.
You have added the extension in such a manner that it blends in very well with the existing house and, once the lichen has grown over the roof tiles, will not look like an extension at all.
You reacted to our requests for ‘extras’ from time to time in a very helpful manner.
We thought that your employees worked well and hard and, very important when they were at such close quarters and in the house for quite a while, were friendly, polite and at pains not to cause undue inconvenience.
This also applied to the tradesmen that you brought in for the specialised work (electrics, windows etc).
Overall we consider the job to be good value and we are glad that we asked you to do the work.
